"Stopped in on the Saturday of essence festival and overall my group was satisfied. When we originally got there, it was very crowded and we were told that the wait would be 1 hour and 30 minutes. The hostess added us to the wait list, took our phone number, and told us she would call when the food was ready. "It was disappointing. While the ribeye wss tender and flavorful, the Duchess potatoes were salty and the Strawberry Shortcake was ordinary. Adam was our waiter and he rarely came to the table. I think he decided we weren't worth his time when we asked about sharing some dishes. I cannot recommend this restaurant. I live here and think there are so many restaurants that are superior to this one in New Orleans"

"We hired Bittersweet for both our Wedding Cake and Groom’s cake. Their cakes were excellent in both taste and design. Our wedding cake was a very traditional--5 tiers with almond/wedding cake outer icing, almond/wedding cake, and cream cheese filling. Not only was it easily one of the best–if not the best–cake we’ve ever tasted, the design was elegant and perfectly matched our wedding. They also worked with us to create a stencil for the outer icing which matched the design of the bride’s veil and was absolutely beautiful. The Groom’s cake was a chocolate cake with cookies and cream icing and oreo garnish. We decided to go with Bittersweet for the Groom’s Cake well after we’d asked them to make the wedding cake and they worked with me to schedule a tasting during my bachelor weekend in New Orleans on pretty short notice. With no direction from me other than the flavors I wanted they made a Groom’s cake that was not only delicious, but was also a perfect companion to the Wedding Cake. Overall, Bittersweet made delicious, perfectly designed cakes, and were very accommodating in doing so. We would highly recommend them and can’t wait to enjoy the top tier of our cake on our anniversary! Photos by James Shaw Photography."

"Had a great lunch there. Po'boy and Jambalaya. Excellent food. Good service. All at the table enjoyed their meal. Will definitely go back. Got right in at lunch. Had 30 minute wait had we stayed for that the evening before. Probably would have been worth the wait."
