"Very impressive. While this place looks like a typical place to get a craft beer, it serves a very unique dinner. A blend of beer partner clamps and specialties, with ingredients from their garden not disappointed the meal. The small plates, the main and the desert were all perfection. Dogs are also allowed on the terrace, but the seat is limited so that I would make a reservation. The beer and the cocktails were also great and seasonal. The waiting staff was very informed and did not deal with the meal, but what they recommended in the area. A Must in VA Beach"

"Unbelievably poor service. was very disappointed. we chose this restaurant because it was clean and “friendly” was next to our hotel on the beach, but basic restaurant ethics there is not here. or maybe it's only for certain races. we have expected that we as a family dinate together and enjoy a good meal. the waiter, however, was not very welcoming and served our drinks in plastic-to-go tassen and our food in boxes. while all others had regular dinners and utensils. when I asked another waiter why we were served in plastic, he said that regular glasses could be unwashed. but others who came after receiving regular drinking glass. So we decided not to eat there and asked to pay for the drinks we do not drink and go."

"My daughter and I were trying different places while we were in town for a sports tournament. We had some mixed experiences with the options in this area of town. We came to Java Surf for breakfast and it cost us almost as much as dinner did the night before. The ordering process was confusing and the menu pricing was misleading. I ordered the Big Kahuna which had much more of the same ingredients than my daughter's build your own sandwich option, yet hers was more expensive. I'm thankful we had plenty of time because the food took a long time. It was decent when we finally got it, but was overshadowed for being charged $16 for a croissant with 2 eggs, cheddar cheese, and avocado."
