"I ordered a pork rib platter with a side of candied yams and mac and cheese. Pros: good portions for the price. The Candied Yams (which was actually just mashed sweet potatoes) and the ribs were ok. For a smokehouse I expected the ribs to have more flavor, but was disappointed. The customer service was good. Cons: the other sides were terrible. The mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box. The cornbread was extremely dry. I would not recommend. There is better BBQ in the city."

"I like Elle and the people who work there, it's a lovely spot. Honestly though the prices have gone up significantly (to the point where I think it will limit me going. Coffee is about 50 cent more per cup that most places plus add the 20% included for tip it's over 4 dollars whereas most places coffee costs 2.75/3 in DC. I was most surprised this morning by my total (and it's on me for not checking costs before I checked out. A small slice of quiche and a coffee coming in at 15 dollars is a lot; I remember when at least the quiche came with a salad. So it's a cool spot but I wish, it was 20% more and that went to the insurance for staff instead of being 20% more plus 20%. I know inflation hits hard, but I'm starting to find it hard to justify other than for major treats. That being said the food is good, so please do go there to treat yourself. (This is a breakfast review dinner has always been a bit out of my price range."
