"Sam 's of gedney way. We recently attended the 25th Anniversary Celebration for Sam 's. Sam 's provides consistently good food and service. We have been going there for years. It is a great place to meet friends for a burger and a beer. I have used it for business lunches and dinners. My wife and I enjoy our 'date ' nights there as well. Kudos to Peter, the Owner, and to Brian, the General Manager."

"This is not a typical restaurant order since I placed an order from Too Good to Go for a surprise bag in the end of the day. I ended up getting some Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and 2 tiny drum sticks for $4.99. Not sure if this is what this restaurant typically gives out but just want to put it here in case anyone is curious about what they gave out."

"Very confused on the feedback here. We ordered a variety of dishes to try the menu being that it was our first time. I really wanted to send the duck wings back. They were fried, dry, and incredibly chewy with very little meat. Wings like this should be pressure cooked first so they're tender. The texture and cooking technique was wrong but the sauce on the wings was very good. The drunken shrimp was just several over cooked shrimp in a dish with a white wine tasting sauce, no garnish or accompaniments, no heat. It was just OK. Again, the sauce held the majority of the flavor. Why not grill the shrimp with some seasoning? Ok my biggest issue was the broccoli and plantains. This was literally cold (steamed at one time) broccoli with 0 flavor or seasoning other than shredded parmasean cheese. The broccoli I make at home for routine week night dinners is 100x better. The plantains were hot and yummy. The dish didn't make sense. It was like eating a bunch of leftovers from the fridge on one plate. Now for the good stuff! The entrees were much better than the apps hence the 3 stars. The pork (pibil) was the clear winner. Really flavorful and love the pickled onions over polenta. Polenta was also cooked well. Very hearty and felt like a winter dish. I would eat this again. The duck ragout pasta had a great sauce but didn't need the random little pieces of duck thrown in. It felt like an afterthought. The chanterelle mushrooms and the sauce were the star of this dish. The cocktails (margarita and bourbon cocktail) were also very good. UPDATE: The restaurant contacted me directly after reading the review and said they wouldn't have charged for the apps if we had said something. They asked me to contact them to discuss. I'm happy to pay for the food we ate, but I really appreciate this level of customer service. It's impressive that the restaurant reads reviews and reaches out to their customers directly. This goes a long way!!"
