"If you were in Paris or have never been and would like to experience it again for the first time, save yourself the airway and go to Ma Maison in Aptos. If you walk in the door, you will be transported to the ambience of a typical Parisian dining area. They are greeted by the boss/owner woman with a huge, warm and welcoming smile. They will sit on an elegant table with fine porcelain, glassware and silver with linen napkins. The cook came to our table to welcome us, not less in French, and to us about the specials in French. He speaks English very well and doesn't want to stop what Paris was like for me. I had called the Baked Onion Soup French Onion in non-French places) my mother in the law had the Fois gras. That was the best. The soup was sour from the ground with a real bovine broth and caramelized onions, the cheese was so aromatic and tasty with exactly the right amount. The fois gras came the size of a medallion of the fillet. My mother-in-law, who has eaten Fois-Gras all over the world, has almost gone out of the jokes and the perfection of this plate, it has not offered to share and that is not like them. We went on to have the salmon speciality, devine, I had the steak with mushrooms and demi glacier, awesome and Bettie mother in law) had the Nikoise salad, perfection. We enjoyed the meal with a dancer. The wine list was well built. We made it with a house chocolate fondant mousse cake and a double espresso. We couldn't finish it and take it home for breakfast. Three of us came with 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 3 appetizers, a dessert, a cup of coffee and a bottle of wine for under $150. Go to Ma Maison!"

"Unbelievable. Great food with Latin American taste, such as Pupusas, Loroco, Plantains and Rebueltas. Very recommended for breakfast, brunch, lunch or anytime you can go! The food takes some time to prepare because it is made with all fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is so secret, and even the coffee tastes great!!"

"The lunch menu rotates every two week with different theme from Italian, French, Asian to American. Most ingredients such as bread, soup, entree and dessert are prepared fresh by chefs and training students. The set menu is reasonably priced between $10 and $15, which includes salad, bread, soup and your choice of entree. No reservation is needed for the lunch time but is highly recommend for dinner service."

"Wow, I'm so surprised to read Jasper's criticism. My husband and I have eaten several times at Cafe Sparrow, and I can hardly believe his experience was so negative. The food is delicious, and while the restaurant is small, the ambience is usually great. Bob Montague is cooking owner, he is one of the nicest people, and the best chefs, in the city. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience, Jasper, and hope you will give Cafe Sparrow another chance. It's a great local restaurant, and we need all the good restaurants we can reach here – it's not San Francisco."

"Well...they do not brew decaf...but will make you an Americana. No offense...but hot water with a shot of Expresso is not the same.Last time I decided I would have a caffeinated coffee...and it was kinda week and a bit old. The coffee bar to add cream and sugar...was...I guess acceptable...but the price is a touch high for what you're getting.The staff is always friendly although they seem to change a lot. Possibly because they can't give the people what they want."
