"Stopped for a pint. Was allowed to bring dog inside or to beer garden (place next door refused even dog in beer garden). Service was great, served quickly and the dog was even brought a bowl of water. Our pints were lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"I’m currently sitting eating my last meal at nelsons after being here for 3 weeks on business. What can I say the head chef and his team are exceptional cooks! Every night I’ve had stunning food. I’m fussy (as they will well know by now)...and my requests have never been a problem. The food is lovely and filling and I would highly recommend coming for a meal here if you are in the area! Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. 5 stars from me if I’m ever back in the area the fussyone will be coming back to pay a visit!"

"I did not want the formality of the restaurant, so to lunch in the lounge bar. the setting was warm and comfortable if it doesn't matter to them, horse races on the big screen tw. service was good and the menu sufficient. I chose the chicken pile with a side of thin frying and my partner the 10oz sirloin with garlic potatoes. the portions were excellent and the food was of good quality. my partner eyes were bigger than her booze and could not finish them, so they will be glad to hear that they do what they do not eat to take it home. I sold and decided to dessert for which I chose lemon cheesecake with ice, but the waiter was distracted and I got fresh looking at the end of the day, so no complaining, and it was nicely served with fresh berries and honeycomb. along with a large glass wee for the dame and a pint koks came the bill somewhat over £60. would not have been here in years, but would recommend it for a lazy lunch, followed by a couple of beaver for those who want to make a afternoon of it."
