"The options that are available are sub par. They're modified dishes where one ingredient or another is taken off and it's just not very good. Even what's left isn't prepared well. I'd say skip this place altogether and head someplace else."

"We were in town and came across this place. We decided to try their seafood chowder. The Chowder had good flavor with a good mix of fish , lobster, clams. We were happy we decided on this fun lunch place. We loved the decor. Don?t forget to say hi to their moose"

"My aunt recommended that we are here for the lobster and we were not disappointed! My mother and I had the crabcake appetizer and the lobster, both were fantastic! Definitely the best crab cake I've ever had and great first experience with lobster. Our waiter was great, he even gave us a list of places on the island to visit and showed us how to crack the lobster!"

"We saved the best place for last on our visit to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. We got there not long before closing as we had been out hiking all day, but they welcomed us in with with nothing but smiles. Our waiter (his name escapes me but he was very outgoing and was clearly an avid hiker who had grown up in the area) was absolutely wonderful and was super friendly. The food itself was also wonderful it was the best we had in Bar Harbor. We started with an appetizer of fried calamari which was perfectly cooked and tender. Then we tried the lobster mac cheese and the surf and turf combo with a whole boiled lobster and a NY strip steak (paired with fingerling potatoes and asparagus). Everything was cooked to perfection, but especially that fresh caught lobster. We finished the night off with sharing their fudge brownie sundae, it was absolutely delicious. Everything was a 10/10. When you are at most establishments past closing, you normally get the feeling that the waitstaff would like for you to leave so they can go home (reasonably so and we would never try to stay past closing anywhere any longer than necessary) but the individuals working at Jack Russell 's made us feel as if we were part of their family there, engaging in casual conversation with us about our hiking adventures and hometowns, etc. even after we had finished our meals. It really was a delightful experience all around and our only regret is that we did not get to dine there another day as we had to head for home the next morning. But we will be back again in the future for more hiking and consequently another dinner at Jack Russell 's. Highly recommend you give them a try if you are in the area."

"We got the naked lobster roll. The portion size was good and came with a side of butter to dip with. We also got sweet potato fries and coleslaw. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like those way too much salt in the sweet potato fries. Coleslaw was a bit bland. So I ended up dipping my sweet potato fries and coleslaw to balance it out. Service was okay but I guess it's a busy day especially on weekends. The view was pretty good, easy access definitely helps."
