"We have eaten here many, many times. Our family know that for any special occasions they can take us here or buy us a voucher. My wife and I arrived at noon and had the place to ourselves. We both ordered the larger fillet steaks plus fries, sauces and onion rings. 3 mouthfuls into my steak and I had the worst pain in my chest, something similar to indigestion. I was slumped in my seat trying to remain calm while struggling for air. Obviously my wife was alarmed and concerned for me as I couldn't answer her questions: did I want an ambulance, discuss further how I felt. The person who had taken our order saw me and asked her if I needed anything. After 7 or 8 minutes and drenched in sweat I decided to get outside for air which I just about managed. I think that a piece of steak had lodged in me preventing me from breathing properly. Now this was no fault of the restaurant. However, once my wife had seen me sitting on a wall and trying to keep calm she went back in to apologise and settle the bill. We had not finished our drinks, and our plates of food could be clearly seen half finished. We paid in full just under £120. They had done nothing wrong but I do wonder if some type of discount could of been offered."

"Such a lovely atmosphere whatever the occasion. The staff are fantastic and the food is amazing with so much choice. I can't recommend enough the Severn Wye Salmon starter enough along with the Chicken, Ham Leek pie, so tasty. Can't wait to come back again :"

"Great gluten free options, and most excitingly for a gluten free person, they do gluten free onion rings. Everyone’s food was excellent, the service was fantastic. Highly recommend."

"Eldest pub in england with dated proff. beautiful staff, eating was excellent, and each piece of the pub looked like a museum! we loved it there a public walk near for a walk (30 minute or 2h full of birds and wildlife). we have also learned a lot from the beautiful staff available. has tried a new Scottish beingeschirr and a fine ale! we'll be back!"
