"Walt from Walt's Adventures here in Martinez, California. I find myself at the Florence Italian Restaurant. To be honest, the outside of the restaurant is not what I consider as inviting as with many areas in Martinez. This restaurant though is one of the gems that still glow brightly in the city. The food all had a great presentation. Some of the dishes though get lost in their sauces but still tasted great. The staff were welcoming but we did see the bottom out of water glasses. I would recommend this eatery for any casual or business dinner."

"The atmosphere was great, the staff extremely attentive and friendly, but I found the food (I had minestrone soup and the chef's special chicken pasta of the day) was very...well...bland...and without a lot of flavor. It was if it had been made for someone on a sodium-and spice-restricted diet. It was good, don't get me wrong, but there was something just...missing from the flavors. I'd definitely try again... maybe it was just an off night."

"I had the Cal-Ital sandwich. Bread was super stale and waaay too thick for the amount of sandwich filling. The pesto mayo tasted old and not at all like pesto. I had a bad stomach ache after eating the sandwich. The food was too expensive and poor quality."

"Good stuff! I ordered the weekly lunch special that included a salad, slice of pepperoni and a small drink. The pizza had a thick crust. I went in at 11:30. There was plenty of seating and the food was fresh!"

"Ordered contactless delivery, and apparently that means they don't call you, or knock, or anything. Happened to go outside and found bugs and ants all over the pizza. Called to request a new one and girl said she would let me speak to manager. She forgot to put it on hold while she told the story and said they did nothing wrong and asking for a new one was ridiculous. Finally manager came on and said they'd bring a new one, but we got nothing additional or any discount or anything. So basically i should just be okay with bugs in my food and a three hour total wait time. Food here isn't bad but attitude toward customer service is absolutely unacceptable. I will definitely never go here again, and make sure everyone i know makes sure this is how they handle mistakes. 1 STAR"

"Visited this place with my man and son on a Friday night. the place was not so crowded, there were two more families. I should add that we went around 7:45 and I did not realize that the place was closed at 8:30. we ordered a calamari appetizer and were served hot brot while we wait for our food to arrive. the brot was so good, I had a whole basket of it for dinner. it had a little cracky, but was super soft and warm inside. calamari was also good. we ordered the deep pizza as our main dish. I understood that the deep dish would be taken a little longer than a normal pizza, which was completely in order. it came and I wasn't as happy as I thought I was. the crust on the floor was quite thin and it was above all just a big lump cheese, how too much cheese. it was overlaid up to the point, it seemed as if we were just eating cocknuckles of cheese, not much between filling. I would visit again, but probably away from the deep dish pizza."
