"We went to the Black Bull on Saturday for a family catch up, the service was really good and the food was excellent. The wine was reasonably priced and we weren't rushed. We all had a lovely evening and will definitely be going back."

"This place could be better, very basic and in need of a revamp. Very old fashioned inside. The food is basic, I ordered the hot beef baguette, it started on the menu that it was topside beef but was far from that. It was more like tinned beef in gravy which was lacking onions also started on the menu. The baguette was not the nice crusty fresh type just a cheap part baked effort. The drink I ordered was blackcurrant and soda which tasted somewhat musty.on the plus side the toilets are extremely clean. Could be much better. Definitely wouldn’t recommend."

"The black pudding was beneath a thyme hash brown, and pancetta with a dippy egg. The combination of tastes was excellent: like a miniature world-class breakfast. The soufflé was smooth with a strong rich taste."

"Had supper here in April 2019. Nice enough JW Lees pub, much better than it used to be and busy in the evenings which is a good sign. Food was good enough for the nice, I had a spicy veg curry which was reasonable. Beer garden at the rear and car park too, but mostly it's friendly locals. Guess they shift more food early evening as it was hard getting served and there was less focus on the beer. If you live in Hollins this is pretty much your only option, but it's better than most people get."
