"Totally superb Roast Beef Sunday lunch. Cooked to perfection, great presentation. The amount of beef is incredible, think of a very large steak about the size of your hand, basically you get your own joint of beef!!!! Reasonably prices beer and wines. Exceptional staff, very attentive and polite. A little out of the way in historic premises. What's not to like. Oh and very reasonably priced."

"Had the carvery yesterday there along with my friends. Thick cuts of meat. Nice selection of veg and roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. Lovely icecream to finish off with. Mint choc lovely. Staff even opened door behind us as a very warm day. All enjoyed meal, all of us well stuffed lol"

"Really love this place and hadn 't been since before the first ever lockdown. Sat inside were it was well spaced out and mostly empty. We ordered soft drinks as we were all driving and just friends meeting up. Drinks were ordered and paid for at the table and came over promptly. When we nearly finished our drinks the bar man came over to ask if we wanted more drinks. We said we were OK. He still came over a few more times. If the place was busy I would assume he needed the table but it was quiet. Maybe he just wanted the sales. We just wanted to relax and catch up. If we planned to stay longer we would have got another drink but we were only there 1-1 1 2 hours. Yes we made that drink last. We aren 't cheap, just friends who hadn 't seen each other for a long time and chatted more than drank. Maybe the bar man should have asked once and said, if you need any more drinks signal me over after we said we are OK. Otherwise, this place is still great and I 'm sure I will be back and not drinking pop and keeping the barman busy."

"Wow. This place is excellent for a great experience. The food was very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Customer service was second to none. Alison was our server and she really did make us feel welcome. The kids had colouring sheets, crayons and balloons to keep them occupied. The pub is very clean and toilets smelt fresh. We even spoke to Martin the manager who was very polite to pass on that we had such a lovely afternoon. Thanks again to everyone and we will be visiting again soon"

"We liked the setting next to the canal and the staff were friendly. We went for something to eat. The food was just okay so while we might go back for a drink we won't be eating there again. Hopefully other people enjoy there food more than we did."
