"I haven't felt the need to write about a local pub for a while, but after nearly a year we decided to come back to Nags for some food as we had heard good reviews. Thank goodness we decided to spend a rare childless Sunday here. Jody greeted us with a warm welcome and came to the bar to serve us without hesitation. The restaurant seemed busy but we weren't still sure if we wanted to eat here. We were offered menus just in case we changed our mind . We sat In the window area at the front and reminisced about our youth we spent down here (talking 30+ yrs ago) . The general feeling was lovely, seeing people of all ages enjoying a quiet drink or a family meal. We decided to eat at the nags after looking at the great choice of menu options but due to a family of 4 with dogs sat near we moved to a quieter area just off the main bar. My husband was impressed with the Madri and said it was the best pint he had had in a while and my Malbec went down well. The food didn't take too long to arrive and it was absolutely lovely. I opted for the 3 meat Sunday lunch and it was honestly amazing. The meat just melted in my mouth and my side order of pigs in blankets was divine. Hubby had a steak and it was cooked to perfection maybe a little bit too much fat in for his taste and he felt the option of usual compliments like egg , onion rings were missing and could have been an option instead of the salad that came as standard. Saying that he cleared his plate,!! The whole experience made me feel I had to compliment the staff and it was very well received and appreciated. We will return where I am looking forward to tasting the seafood dishes. Thank you again to all for a reignition of interest on an old haunt of ours and within walking distance too ."
