"Was in line behind a group of 5-6 Black people all dressed very nicely. Bouncers told them to leave because of a dress code violation. Everyone inside was white and wearing sweatpants. I wonder what the mayor would think."

"Staff were so easy to work with and organized. They set us up with the blues band so we didn't have to organize anything. We were able to bring our own catering, several bar packages to choose from and the alcohol provided was pretty good. They let us tour the venue in advance, the contract is flexible to number of people who show up (with a minimum), the staff who helped day of were super helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Decor was nice, sound was perfect with the band, location is accessible... all around very glad we chose this venue for our pre-wedding welcome event. Thanks to the entire team for making it so easy and great!!"

"I’m so annoyed with this hotel, I decided to write this review from the plane after leaving this morning. Don’t be duped to stay here if you are looking for any quality experience. Instead, choose the JW across the street for the same rates. Firstly, for $400+/night, you would expect more from a room of this cost. Secondly, this location is W only in name. Nothing about it says luxury travel. The rooms are extremely outdated, dirty and tiny. The AC blows wet, smelly air. There is also an odor throughout the hotel from the air fragrance spray they use which attacked the senses in a very unpleasant way. While the check in/check out was pleasant enough, bar staff/service was hit or miss. The food seems to be microwaved or out of Sysco bag. What finally threw us over the edge was asking for an espresso but being told they couldn’t make us one… only an espresso martini… at 4 p.m. in an empty bar. I’m an elite member with Marriott. I will make sure I tell all my business and personal relations to stay away from this hotel when visiting Chicago. While the hotel is located in a spectacular area, there are many, many more superior hotel choices available within blocks."

"Pool wasn't working, which was the main reason we picked this hotel. Location is alright. Website did not state the pool was out of order when booking as the front desk claimed. Nor were we told upon check in. We tried to call 4 times ahead of time and no one answered. Otherwise, room was nice and hotel was quiet. Cleaning services were great"
