"Excellente première impression: nous sommes venus déjeuner le jour de notre arrivée, la serveuse a été des plus accueillantes, les plates étaient simples mais de qualité, a priori, rien à redire! Tout s'est gâté le soir même: accueil glacial du patron, commande refusée (pas de boissons chaudes pendant le service du soir) puis plus un regard, alors que nous étions tout à fait disposés à nous rabattre sur une bière... Une adresse qui peut être agréable... question de chance!"

"Stayed there for 7 nights. Upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the beach and sea. Well worth the extra cost. The room was not large, hard to open wardrobe door because of bed. But that said, room cleaned every day and fresh towels. Continental breakfast but was fresh and there was plenty of choice. The receptionist was particularly delightful, we found staff across the hotel to be friendly and very helpful. At the time of our stay the restaurant attached to the hotel was closed, but I understand they are seeking to open it up as soon as a replacement proprietor can be found. There is a very good one 50 yards down the road. Would recommend. We loved our stay. Beautiful part of France, well worth a visit."

"As this place was on a direct line between where we were staying and the beach, it wasn't too hard to notice it and realise that it always seemed to be buzzing with customers. The menu looked long and I don't always take this as a good sign in a restaurant, but in fact it was quite cleverly constructed to offer a wide choice without overburdening the kitchen's resources. We turned up on a Sunday evening, having booked a couple of hours earlier, but despite the fact that the place was heaving, we didn't see anyone turned away during the course of the evening. Service was friendly but very professional, and as always it's a joy to watch a few staff handling a lot of covers (I didn't count them) so efficiently a rare site in the UK. We started with a shared platter of smoked fish, so nothing too demanding for the kitchen there. I'm still to be convinced that prawns actually benefit from being smoked, but all the other fish on the platter was delicious. As we hadn't had any this holiday, we both opted for moules frites (one mariniere, one a la creme) boring, I know, but we didn't regret it. They were deliciously fresh and cooked exactly right. The only problem we had was with the QUANTITY! If served moules at the same price in England, I'd expect to get about one third of the amount. Clare heroically nearly made it to the end of her mariniere, but with the handicap of the rich sauce I only got about two thirds of the way through. After that, dessert was a no no, which was a pity as they looked pretty spectacular. The restaurant definitely benefits from its site, overlooking a sandy cove and across the estuary mouth, but it's pleasing to find that they don't simply use this to get away with mediocrity, as so many places might."

"We tried Kouign Amann years ago.We came back to North France this summer and we wanted to find a good place to taste this typical dessert again. This place had totally satisfied our expectation for the Kouign Amann. They prepare fresh, home made desserts, you...should definitely go to this place if you want to try the REAL Kouign Amann but also many others Delicatessens!"
