"I was very disappointed with my experience here. We wanted to go somewhere on the river tonight for dinner and with me being new to the falls, I like trying all the new places. The first part that sucked was they didn't have any outdoor dining going on. It's a beautiful day yet they weren't opening up their outdoor area and there are literally only a few tables inside with a view. So that was disappointing. It didn't start off too bad. We got the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer and that was pretty good. As for the entrees, that was an entirely different story. I ordered the fish and chips. I felt like we waited a decent amount of time for our food to come and when it did, it was cold. My fries were room temperature and a little soggy tasting. But my fish was horrible. It looked ok until you cut into it. The fish itself was cold, mushy and had no flavor whatsoever. But the breading was the big issue. It was too soft on the outside and there was layer of liquid batter between the fish and outer breading. I had to quit eating it after a few bites. Luckily they took it off our bill. My girlfriend got some California chicken sandwich. The chicken looked tiny and she said it wasn't good at all. My girlfriend assured me their breakfast food is much better so I'll cut them a little slack. But honestly, I have no intentions of ever going back here."

"Friendly servers, clean establishment, and nice ambiance. The bathrooms were a little cramped, but clean. Delanie's offers a nice menu and good selection of appetizers. Also a pretty extensive drink and beer menu...one entire page devoted to their bourbons. The food is good to excellent depending on what you order. For example, We started with the buffalo cauliflower wings which were some of the best I've ever had...Crunchy, tasty and juicy is how I would describe them. The fried goat cheese was pretty good too, but could have used another minute in the fryer and another ladle more of the vodka marinara. I also would prefer it be served with toast tips instead of the, I believe, pita bread. For my entree, I ordered the poached pear salad; it was just okay, but boring otherwise. The pears seemed over poached and tasteless. However, I had the lobster Bisque, and it was excellent...thick and full of lobster and great flavor! Overall, the food was well executed and mostly satisfying. Now the reason for a 4-Star vs a 5-Star rating. Although I would unhesitatingly return to Delanie's, I was unhappy with being hit with a surcharge almost as much as the tax rate 6.75%, which I was not informed of beforehand. And I had enough cash on hand to pay the bill. Just be aware of the surcharge...it seems much higher than the current industry standard at 2-3%."
