"On Mother's Day, the menu was ridiculously limited with very small portions and expensive options. The chicken dish that 2 of the people in our group had ordered was not enough to feed a child !! The decor is very good, but you need to expand your selection even when you are not on vacation."

"My daughter I drove up from Texas to visit my mother who lives in downers grove. My mother insisted that we gotta try city barbecue wanted to treat us so on 2/21/2022 at exactly 7:45p we walked in. I noticed that the sign on the door showed they close at 8 upon entering the restaurant the body language and comments amongst the cook cashier confirmed that they do indeed close at 8. The cashier asked if it was dine in or carry out again the cook mentioned under his breath that we close at 8. I said it was carry out but he still kinda threw his hands up I saw him toss a couple wooden slabs up on the counter. The “gentleman” that bagged our order did so in such a manner that I thought he had a personal grudge against the bag. But the food was good."
