"Everything here is just amazing. The food is reaaaal good. And you can be assured of a full belly since the servings are generous. They have hats and costumes available for the anime fans,action figures are all over the place and of course, a TV that plays non stop anime!"

"Firstly, I would say that I lived in Japan for 14 years. The only other review I could see here was from a Japanese (apparently), though I couldn't believe any Japanese would compliment their food.Wakagi is not a separate restaurant, but a part of the menu of the main restaurant. Reading the menu is a bit of a waste of time, since very few items on the menu are actually available.I wanted to order some Eda Mame (soy beans) while we decided what else to eat - not available.So we tried to to find some other starter. I asked about the Wakagi salad, "what is it?" Waiter replied "you want to order one?" I said "no, I want to know what it is". He said "it's vegetables". Really a salad made with vegetables, what will they think of next? "What kind of vegetables? I said."Lettuce, carrots" was the reply. So, I said "that doesn't sound too interesting". So, we looked at the sashimi and sushi, there was quite a list of shrimps, squid, salmon, etc.. So we asked for salmon - not available. In fact, nothing was available except Tuna.We settled on some temaki. It should be a cone of dry (crispy) sea weed wrapped around cold rice and inside tuna, which are filled almost to the base of the cone. they'd used hot rice, so the seaweed was all soggy. only the top had any rice or tuna and the rest was empty. Terrible.Then the salad (which we hadn't actually ordered!) arrived. We didn't bother to argue. The taste wasn't so bad, due to the dressing, but there was 95% lettuce, with a few pieces of sliced carrot and unripe tomatoes.In the meantime, I had finished my first beer and was looking for a waiter. They had all disappeared to the reception area for a chat and I had to go there and drag one out to get me a beer. The mosquitoes were more attentive than the waiters.My wife had the Itame, which she said was good, except that the pork had plenty of fat; it should really be a healthy dish. I had an Udon (thick noodle), I think it was called Nabeyashi Udon. The noodles were overcooked. There was tempura on the top, but they put so much sauce that the tempura was submerged in the sauce and much of the covering had come off and was mush, mixed with the noodles. If you are in Dumaguete and would like to sample some Japanese food, I don't recommend Wakagi."

"If you're into dull and boring food then this is the place to go. I did not like the food, nor the atmosphere nor the attitude of some of the staff. I certainly would not recommend this place unless you are absolutely desperate."

"I only had the sushi here and the fish was noticeably fresh, which is the most important thing considering you are eating a raw food. However, better you don't show up very hungry or it will become a pricey meal because it's cut thin and small for what you're paying. Also, several of the types of fish were not available. If I lived local and loved sushi I would make the splurge occasionally, but otherwise there are more memorable restos offering a better value in this city."

"A very good, welcoming place very well furnished and cosy furnishings. if they want intimacy, they go to this restaurant. not loud music. the kitchen is really well prepared and very tasty, very fresh too. because the dishes are not prepared, they can wait to be served a little, but they are sure it is only made for them. the waitresses wearing Japanese clothes are particularly attentive, sensitive and discreet. It is more than reasonable in terms of prices. go there, enjoy them"
