"We have been in alivias three times since the takeover of the chef brand mishalanie and eating is always excellent. it is wonderful that there is a restaurant in durham with several excellent vegetarian options! we have actually chosen! the soon-at-home makes it even more fun. the cheeseless mac and the cheese and the brussels sprouts were great!"

"The manager and a host were present when I entered and they did not greet me. I actually think they glared at me, after a few awkward moments I explained that I made a reservation for 10 via opentable, they had no idea what I was talking about. After checking the reservations they found my party and found room for us. I was waiting by the door and when i went to sit on the couches there were two big piles of spit on the floor. The restaurant was fairly empty, but it took forever to order our first round of food. We were sent a new waitress and she was much nicer and more helpful."

"My husband and I both really enjoyed our dinner at The Refectory Cafe. The food was delicious and healthy. The atmosphere was lovely. We are going back for brunch today!!! I haven't found a restaurant that serves delicious vegan meals since I moved to NC from CA. I highly recommend this place. The staff are wonderful, the owner is very nice and the prices can't be beat."
