"Absolutely beautiful food both in taste and presentation. We had the plaisir menu to taste lots of things , and focusing on local fish and buckwheat this menu delivered diverse, exceptional and unusual combinations of mainly fish and seafood. Lovely amuse bouche to start, best selection of different kind of bread- squid ink, seaweed, cheese and ham, buckwheat- and perfectly sized portions, lovely light and not sweet pudding and fantastic wine list with helpful advice from the sommelier. Lovely food, lovely service, the decor needs to be rethought, just as the food is all of local provenance I 'd love to see the local pigment dyed linen, driftwood etc used to compliment the mood of the food, at the moment it 's a collision not a compliment, but didn 't detract from the dining experience which is after all what we were there for !"

"We had the most amazing and memorable menu plaisir here this evening, thanks to a recommendation from the Rough Guide. It was truly unique and cleverly delicious, with inspired use of blé noir grains (buckwheat) in almost every dish. The dish with St Pierre (John...Dory) was my favourite, but I also enjoyed the langoustines and lobster. We had the pigeonneau as an extra, and ate rather too much of the wonderful squid ink and buckwheat breads, so that I unfortunately couldn 't manage the cheese course or all of the multi-stage strawberry dessert. The service was top notch, and they even presented us with a little menu at the end. They asked which language we preferred and spoke clearly and mercifully slowly in French, without being patronising or stuffy, when we said we wanted it in French. Plomodiern is quite an unremarkable villlage, a few miles from the sea, but this is a remarkable restaurant. Vaut le voyage ."

"We often visit this restaurant. We pre-reserve a table over the phone. Today it was very loud and noisy. This interfered with the conversation at our table. "Went here with the kids for a family lunch for my birthday. The food was excellent and even though it was a very busy service I cqnt complain that it was too slow. Desserts were fabulous! Local caramel cake... profiteroles with chocolate sauce. mmm Starters and main courses also really good. Tried the crab and fish of the day and everything was good. No complaints from me. You should probably book for busy lunch times or dinner."
