"With so many choices of restaurants, it is a question of luck in Funchal whether you pick a good one. This was better than expected and we liked the pricing formula which gave more choice than many with set menus. You pay for the main course and then the starter and dessert are included, so there is an à la carte menu from which certain choices can be selected for the offer. We both chose what we wanted at under €12 each. The waitress was efficient and friendly and we felt we had excellent value. We felt a little guilty at not ordering more drinks, but we had already enjoyed plenty earlier in the day. Very good service and price. We'll be back and happy to recommend."

"Don’t be put off by the rather bland entrance. Restaurant upstairs, is large, spacious and very attractive. The food here was just superb. I cannot recommend the fish soup enough. It was the best I have had anywhere, and could easily and happily had more as a main course. So saying, the lamb tagine was also excellent. We were the only diners there in a Tuesday evening, which was a shame as it did feel a little empty. We were in Funchal for 2 weeks and visited various restaurants in the old town, all except one were excellent, but this one which is a little more central is certainly worth visiting and had we found it earlier, would have visited more. They have only been open a year, and really deserve to do well. Well recommended."

"If it had not been for our starters we would have given top rating as the main dish was good. My wife’s salmon rolls looked like they were made in a hurry, not very delisciously. My schrimps were totally dry and distastefull."

"We had the “parrillas” all amazing. Very high quality of meat and super servings. The sides and started well made and delicious (traditional bolo du caco and milho frito) Dessert Top! The Maracuja mouse was amazing. The service very nice, the staff was always attentive and in a super good mood. I'll be back."

"This was a great spot for variety and different flavours. It is Madeiran cuisine but had something less typical about it. The decor is wonderful, simple, tasteful. I am veggie and they accommodated which is always pleasant. The biggest steak I'd seen yet on the island was served up to one of our guests. Luckily we had some hungry diners on the table who helped out. Would go again."
