"Exquisite! Food, decor, service all awesome. Seriously the best Japanese food. And vegetarians are well catered for. We hadn't booked and found it by chance and although it was busy they found a quiet corner for us. All the staff were very friendly helpful and attentive."

"This use to be a regular place my family friends would visit for a meal, unfortunately I did stop going due to paying cash for a meal at a restaurant. After a few years I decided to go back and try as I did always love the food. From arriving to leaving the Zensation I was so disappointed, food as ok not great, service was shocking considering we were the only people in the place. Toilet bin’s hadn’t been cleaned and to be honest I would say in a few days, after we had our starters all the kitchen staff went outside for a cigarette break, which u could smell inside and see then walking in out which I was appalled at. Hence to say I won’t be returning, sorry to write this review but it truly was a bad experience and not a cheap one either and again still paying cash."

"Called in early on Wednesday and were greeted by a really happy server who explained to us that there were a number of new starters and drinks on the menu and they were on a trial run. After looking at the new items my wife ordered a dish that we can't remember the name of and I went for the matchstick wings,they were both delicious. One of the chefs had brought them over and asked for honest feedback after we finished. We both had curries for mains (firecracker chicken and raisukaree and they were both incredible. We shared a smoked chocolate cake for dessert. Everything we had was great and the service was excellent as always. My wife also had one of the new cocktails which she really liked. This is definitely one of our favourite places to eat"

"Went here with a large group. The dinner entertainment was excellent and the chef was fabulous. I had the salmon salad and the monkfish. Both were great but a little pricey."

"I 've visited the Nippon Kitchen LOTS of times over the past 5 years the food is tasty, plenty on the vegan menu and service is generally friendly. I definitely do recommend it. But it feels like in the past few months, standards have slipped just a wee bit waiting staff not quite so friendly and knowledgeable, uniforms looking a bit grubby, and new metal chairs that feel a bit fake. I 'm sure most of this could be remedied. NK used to feel like a special place to go, now it just feels 'quite good '."
