"Perfect! If you like seafood, get their fresh catch of the day it's going to be amazing! If you don't like seafood get their steak. It is delicious! The portions are massive so bring a big appetite. Make a reservation early especially if you want one of the tables with a better view."

"I have been twice. First time, sat in dining room for lunch. Cozy decor I must say. Excellent service. A cup of Lobster bisque arrived very thick almost gelatinous. The flavor, however, was excellent. Pan sautéed hogfish arrived and it was perfectly cooked. When you order “pan sautéed” at Fish House you are not going to get much of a sauce on the fish. A purist approach, but it will be somewhat dry. I left feeling this was a good meal. I left feeling that prices plus tip for the competent waiter was rather high. But hey, this is the Keys. So I went back another time. The second time, I sat at the bar. I ordered two appetizers for lunch: a bowl of the bisque and oysters “key largo”. The lobster bisque arrived. Same as last time a thick gelatinous paste but flavorful. After finishing the bisque, the bar tender took away the bowl and I sat there waiting for the oysters. And waited and waited. It dawned on me that the bar tender forgot to put in my order for the oysters. This was corrected after some embarrassment. Soon thereafter oysters then arrived. The oysters were a miss my first bite and my tooth slammed into a chunk of grit. I checked to see if I broke a tooth or crown. That slowed me down to commence cautionary chewing on the other oysters. And chew you will like bubble gum. The oysters were tough and overcooked. I left that entire bar experience to reassess my opinion of this place because that little meal at the bar cost quite a bit of money. Again, the prices. The one thing you will notice about this restaurant is their confidence in charging very high prices for what will turn out to be solidly good food but not great food. Sure the service is top notch. Sure it’s cozy. It’s a safe place to go for a first time visitor to Key Largo with money to burn and with no time to research other places."
