"As the road south of the market begins uphill, there is an inconspicuous load at the corner w/ one youta yellow flag. the noodles are made in the house, can dry or with suppee. the owner speaks Chinese, thai, and has created a small card with some English on it to help me find it. it can be diabolical hard to find dumplings without meat in them, so I hope that the vegans can overlook my joy to find a place that traditional i leek roasted w/ a small dipping bowl like china does. I appreciate the reusable paprika, low price, and especially the noodles are great, with a perfect mix of sweet, mushrooms, tofu and a spicy tomato sauce. local often keep in w/children to go out or eat on the hocker. the friendly owner gives them tee if they do not ask for water. this is the perfect place in mae sai for the few weeks of the cool weather."

"Located at a very interesting intersection next to a fleet of rescue vehicles, the buffet here had all the standards when I visited, as well as two stew pots of other options. Spicy and mild selections with mock meats to mix and match. It's a nice, cozy space popular with locals for takeout. The couple that runs the place are lovely, but I didn't get the feeling they were very comfortable with English. Updated from previous review on 2021-03-05"

"This would be one to lean on for more veg options in the ratio with meat dishes (it's also a steakhouse). The staff speak enough English to get by, and the dining area itself is an interesting, open air bulding with lots of Western flair. YG Restaurant by the border should be one's first Indian choice in Mae Sai, but if you want something fancier and can handle takeout (due to Covid-19), this seems to be the only other choice."

"I just caught this place for dinner, just like they were closed at 6:00, while I was looking for YG around the corner. The owner was almost singing about how the dishes, rice and soup would not be delicious because they are cold instead of hot. Very sweet and endearing. She encouraged me to come back the next day, but I insisted and I'm glad I did. The selection of dishes in the buffet was limited by daytime, but all very healthy and fresh. A beautiful view of a busy crossing in a fascinating, dense part of the city at the border crossing. There are English on the Chalkboard sign and she has been happy repeated in Thai. (About the road from here for a year, and I think they are vegan, a fine family operation some say is the best in the city. Updated by previous rating on 2021-03-05"

"Nice place to eat vegan food while you doing a visa run a bit spicey and oily"
