"First time dining here and didn't disappoint. I should've taken more pictures but the food was so good that I just couldn't wait. I loved the ambiance and the soft decor. It felt like I was in the Caribbean. Tyler, our server was attentive and knew the menu well. My friends and I ordered a white fish ceviche and a salad (can't recall the names) as appetizers. That salad was delicious!!! My entree was a whole baked sea bass and it was baked perfectly; the fish melted in mymouth like butter! I definitely recommend and cannot wait to go back."

"Cute little 2 story restaurant with super friendly and nice staff. There is probably always a line to get in though! We tried the fried alligator, the seafood platter, and the charbroiled oysters. I love raw oysters, and I'm not a big fan of cooked ones, BUT these charbroiled oysters were amazing!!! It comes with a piece of garlic bread, which was also very delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out."

"I am so unimpressed. First-time eating at this location and definitely the last. So upon walking in the location there were two ladies at the hostess podium . Neither of them bothered to acknowledge our presence. They continued to talk amongst themselves and walked off from podium saying nothing to us. We waited for about 5 minutes are so for someone to finally greet us and then showed us to a seat. Our waitress who I believe is named Patricia was awesome. She was attentive and friendly. We placed orders for starters and they came out fairly quickly. However our entrees took almost 45 minutes. We eventually were told that someone burned a portion of our food and they were giving us gumbo on the house. The manager eventually came over to apologize after our waitress had already did so and explained that she didn 't like the presentation of the food and had them redo the order. I feel as though that should have been told to us the second she decided to do that and she herself should have been the first to come and explained what was going on. She seemed bothered that she had to say anything to us at all."

"This place is a bit divey, but it's definitely a hidden gem. The crawfish boil and potatoes were seasoned to perfection. The fish poboy was very crispy and not to oily. A side of the garlic butter sauce is a must. Very fair prices too."

"Located in the neoclassical St. Roch Market, Elysian Seafood offered a menu of classic (and some creative) New Orleans dishes with an emphasis on local seafood. The Charbroiled Oysters were sold by the half dozen and came topped with breadcrumbs, garlic, herbs, Grana Padano, and butter, which turned into a crispy, umami topping for the juicy oysters, which were laid out on a platter over rock salt and accompanied by French bread, lemon wedges, and cocktail sauce. The Marinated Crab Claws was a small but flavorful ramekin of about a dozen crab claws marinated with olive oil, shallots, peppers, lemon, and herbs. For my main, I got the Coconut Curry Gulf Shrimp, which came with five freshly roasted, head-on shrimp served over a coconut curry sauce, along with rice and cubed sweet potatoes. I especially loved the flavor of the plump, juicy shrimp and the creaminess and spiciness of the delicious coconut curry."
