"Good taste, average portions, price seemed average for this neighboring in nyc. tried the shrimp sandwich that seemed as if it were ready to order. many flavors, usually think of the sauces used. I wouldn't care to try the other sandwiches."

"Philly native here, let's grade Shorty's by each important part: A for the whiz, in terms of amount, flavor, and how it's constructed, both on the bread and on top. A- for the meat which was great but they need to fill it to the ends of the roll, not leave an inch on each side empty. B+ for the bread. Seems like other people have had it hard and dry, but for me it was soft. Only issue is it's just good, nothing special. A great cheesesteak has great bread, like a great seeded roll. This was good but the bare minimum for adequate. B- for the hot peppers. They were good and it was the right amount but they should be free, not an extra cost. F for the onions. No browning. They were basically steamed onions. And too little were given. C for size/cost. Pretty small roll for a $14 cheesesteak unfilled at the sides and with peppers as an extra charge. A for the workers who were very fast and friendly. C+ overall if in Philly, B+ for NYC. If you're nearby it's a great option, I'll be back, but if you're looking for great cheesesteaks in NYC it's worth going to Federoff's or Mama's Too, and maybe Olde City which I'm yet to try. If you have other great ones please send me a message."
