"We hired the function room upstairs for my daughter’s 21st birthday. Nice size room for up to 60 guests. You’ve got your own small bar, service was quick and the staff friendly and helpful. The room is newly refurbished and has a glitter ball over the dance floor which adds a nice touch to the room. You have to have the pub catering, the food was lovely and plenty of it. A great night was had by all."

"Went out yesterday evening with my husband for a meal. Both of us had a 7 oz fillet steak, the meat was cooked to perfection, the presentation was fabulous. Our waitress Emily was very attentive . Finished off with an apple tata with clotted cream delicious . "Found this on Trip Advisor when look for somewhere that serves good beer and nice food. Glad we came. We rang first to see if we needs to book and was assured that there were quite a few empty tables. As it was getting busy the landlord, unbeknownst to us, had reserved a table for us. There was a good selection of beers which have been kept well. They have a limited selection of gins, but I managed to find one that I liked. The food menu was limited, but everything was made to order and very delicious. A most pleasant visit."

"Like many people I’m sure, a bit put off with the building works going on in the Market Square … Don’t be!! A lovely lunch, I had the pulled brisket chilli and stupidly asked for extra jalapeños.. no need wowser! Husband had pulled pork burger, it looked fab. We also started with a few tapas…. Sad to say the puddings didn’t get a look in! Thanks all of you for looking after us x"
