"We were greeted very warmly and the service in the bar was very good. We were then seated to our table and again the service and tentative waiter was very good, however we order bread to share initially and that didn't arrive until after the starters, which wasn't a real problem but they did say they would remove off the bill which was a nice touch. The starters were really nice but when the main course arrived, they got mine and my partners meals mixed up and initially we didn't realise, so we started eating each others meals, once I had realised I was eating pork rather than lamb, (I wish I had stuck with the pork dish as my lamb was a bit crispy) we swapped it over, it was a good job neither of us minded, both my other half and friend really enjoyed there meals. Lastly, when it came to paying at the end of the evening, the bread was still included on the bill and an additional item added, these were quickly removed and a new bill presented so no real issue. We dined here on New yeas eve, so maybe due to it being really busy took the shine off my experience a little and albeit I thought our waiter Keiren was really good, overall I was slightly disappointed. However, I do like it at Merchants and will definitely be returning in 2017."

"Fairly limited choice. Tasty food (apart from the rock hard avocado pieces in the salad! but not that generous portions. Slow cooked lamb with mash, mushrooms broad beans delicious but tiny amount of sauce, mushrooms broad beans. Friendly waitress. Breakfast was excellent!"

"Really nice hotel. feels very high and luxurious. the rooms are a beautiful size and the breakfast was delicious- with vegan sausages provided for us on request. location is a little out of town, costs from £7-£15 for a more dependent on demand. friendly staff and the rooms were super clean. to visit our second time and we'll be back."

"Strange set up, having to queue for a drink when the half a dozen people in front of you have menus in their hands, there was only one barman serving all night a young lad with glasses Elliott, he was brilliant. He is a proper bar person, he sees everyone as they approach the bar and remmbers their place in the queue, that is a professional at work, what asset to the company goes above and beyond. The food i had ribs were nice, need to get more staff or organised. P.s i hope you never need the wc, disgusting obviously never checked. shame,!"

"We arrived at 8:30 a.m. and got our food closed 19 minutes before the restaurant. we were hurried to end the food and push the door. everything we have ordered (6 different meal times) was incredibly spicy and everyone who went, enjoyed mild spicy. forever, to eat and get drinks."
