"I recently visited a Japanese restaurant in downtown Ottawa for the first time, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Despite the quirky service, which was not bad, it was understandable as the restaurant was extremely busy. I would recommend arriving early, as they do not take reservations ahead of time.This new restaurant is a great find for anyone looking for a wide selection of Japanese food options. From sushi to tempura, their menu had something for everyone, and all of it was delicious. Our dinner party all loved the food options, and we were impressed by the quality, variety, and taste of everything we tried.Compared to many other Japanese restaurants in Ottawa, this one stood out as being a notch above the rest. The dishes were expertly prepared and beautifully presented, and the flavors were simply divine. We particularly enjoyed the sushi rolls, which were fresh and flavorful, as well as the ramen, which were perfectly cooked and served in a savory broth.Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic Japanese dining experience in downtown Ottawa. While the service may be a bit quirky, it is understandable given the restaurant's popularity and the high demand for their delicious food. "Stopped in here for a quick lunch during a work trip in Ottawa. I was blown away by how fresh my rolls were. It seems this place is co-located with a fish market/restaurant so the fish is just unbelievably tasty in very generous portions. I had the spicy combo with tuna, salmon, and scallop rolls. They were all fish, all the time. It's been hours and I'm still emotionally invested in the lunch I had. This is a must try. Friendly service and nice, modern casual decor too."

"Since this seems to be a popular spot, try going before or after lunch time to avoid the lineup.Right off the bat, clean restaurant, quick to be seated and friendly staff.Ordered a few different ramen options off the menu, the favorite being the Tonkotsu black. They were served hot and quick and you have the option to pick thick or thin noodles. Tried most of the appetizers as well. They were alright. The seaweed salad was nice but the wings could have been crispier. Loved the sparkling sake they had on the drink menu!Also got the two cheesecake options; mango and yuzu flavour. They weren't the best so would definitely skip it the next time."

"If you are going to eat there (dine in), yes, this is probably one of the best places in Ottawa (C'est Suisha is another one). Now if you are doing take out (what is pretty much the only option due to COVID-19 and the lockdown),...forget it. It is just plain terrible. They do not have the basic understanding of supply chain and their own output capacity. I place an order for pick up Dec 31st at 7:00pm. I called Dec 30th, at least 24h in advance and placed an Omakase order for 5 people (over $220 order). Got there to pick it up at 7:00pm. By 7:40pm I was told my order had not even started. So they were running at least an hour to an hour and a half behind. I get it that COVID made things a bit harder but we have been in this for a year now. As any decent, well managed restaurant, you should know your capacity, your output and how many time slots an order of a certain size takes and how many of these slots you can fit in an hour based on your workers. They do not have that concept at all. Tons of people cancelled their orders on the spot on the 31st. Huge mess. Unacceptable IMHO as a customer. Again, if you do not care if your order will be one hour or two late and you have nothing better to do so waiting outside in zero degree weather for two hours is fine and fun, you will certainly be rewarded with great food. Now if you value your time and expect a Japanese restaurant to honour their delivery time like any Japanese business would do, definitely look somewhere else."

"My husband and I went to Orchid Sushi yesterday for dinner and we were very surprised at how good it was! It is so hard to find a good sushi place in Ottawa. We are used to eating the best sushi in Montreal and it's been hard to find a place here. But now we have found the place to go to! And the chef and owners were super nice!! And it's very reasonably priced! We'll definately be heading back there soon for my brothers birthday!"

"This is a really fun and quirky Japanese place that was a convenient walk from our hotel. The menu was varied with a number of items we hadn't seen before. Everything came out at the perfect temperature, and at fairly good pacing. The decor of the restaurant has a very Japanese back street vibe to give a cool themed feeling to the place. Highly recommended!"
