"Easily the worst meal I have ever eaten. Do not be taken in by the perfect seafront location-the food is dire. The harbour location and the extensive fish-based menu caught our eye, but the food was a disaster from start to finish. Shortly after ordering...we noticed a large freezer with a glass door, full to the brim with large boxes of frozen fish and cheap desserts. If you are expeecting fresh fish, think again. My boyfriend ordered a menu de la courses for Each course was quite foul. The vanilla ice cream' came in a youghurt style tub. No attempt was made to disguise the cheap and nasty nature of the food. Ie it wasn't transferred to a bowl....they simply peeled off the foil lid for us. Other desserts on offer were a cheap version of the popular Viennetta' desert. We both had seafood paella for our main course and it was foul. The two mussels were inedible, the prawns tasteless and the rice was not proper paella rice. This restaurant gives Basque cuisine a bad name. For a delicious and freshly cooked paella, try Txoko just down the road. One word: divine. A generous portion of paella, cooked to perfection and served with tasty fresh bread, puts the phony Soterotxo to shame."

"Lively little place with good food, nice staff and fresh ingredients. Food is not exceptional, so I give it an average rating. Hard competition in this city."

"One word pintxos! for lovers of appetizers and finger food is the ideal restaurant. historic center of San Sebastian. friendly atmosphere and ultra fast service. pintxos are skewers and bruschettas of both meat and fish. practically you make a lunch (or dinner only with those. there is a choice between 34 different types. really delicious. in san sebastian there are many similar bistros, before entering, look at what is displayed in the window before deciding: reachable only on foot"
