"I was looking for a place to eat yesterday and we decided to stop on the basis of reviews at mama elena. I have rice with huh, chicken stable, plantains and a few fried chicken strips. my teller was full and the price came under $10, which is really good. the food was delicious, but the chicken stable was a bit salty. if they mixed the stew with the rice, then it was okay. I would return to this place and try others. it was busy when I arrived there so I know that the locals are going to eat there."

"Don’t know what all the hype is about. It’s OK. I’m Puerto Rican decent so I really don’t taste the Caribbean flavors. It’s really missing a lot spices. All I taste is salt in the food and no garlic. The beans were very bland and the rice did not taste like we make at home. The pernil was bland and no garlic. The beans were dry and not how we make it. I’m very curious about the cook. If he really is a Boricua because I don’t taste it in the food. Baked empanadas is not the real deal, when you want to eat an empanada it has to be fried. I’m sorry that’s just how we Boricua eat it. Baked is too dry. Like I said it’s Ok for when you’re hungry and need something quick."
