"Akari Sushi has exceptional customer service. Their waiters are very attentive. I come here every weekend and I would always get a special roll. The fish is always fresh. Kitchen entrees are always served hot. Try the home made hot sake when you’re here! Totally recommend this place!"

"It is an open atmosphere inside with a few tables (the were sticky and a beautiful bar. I'm not a coffee person, but it looked like they could make a lot of coffee! there are also a few tables outside, on the civic platform. the bathrooms are quite narrow, there are two, one on each side of the restaurant. the menu selection is great and the food tasted fresh and tasty."

"Everything was made to perfection. Burger came out medium rare just how I liked it. The fish and chips came out tasting fresh and crispy. The chowder I had before the burger was absolutely to die for (I believe there was one with lobster in it). Overall ambiance was amazing. It felt warm and nostalgic. Great views of the Hudson River. Beautiful place to go on a nice date after a nice walk."

"I had lunch with two friends and our food was ranged from adequate but not special to barely edible. My first friend had the plain burger on the menu. The burger came out as ordered; but seemed like a diner frozen patty rather than something fresh that you would expect from a barbecue restaurant. It was probably the best of the three sandwiches. The fries were fine, not bad but nothing special. Possibly frozen. My second friend had the pulled chicken sandwich. The sauce was flavorful but the chicken didn 't appear to be, pulled chicken, but rather cubes of chicken breast cooked in a pan with sauce poured on top. It was edible but didn 't really live up to description or expectations. His mac 'n cheese side was the best side. It was plated nicely, with a toasted top and bread crumbs in a a little ramekin.I ordered the brisket sandwich and it was barely edible. The brisket was sliced and each slice seemingly fried on a pan or griddle being browned on the flat sides and quite oily. It was very dry and tough. I asked the waitress if they had fried the brisket, and she said they smoked all of their meats before 'warming ' them up on the grill. It didn 't have grill lines on it. Again fries with it, they were good but probably frozen. The coleslaw that came with each was good but unexciting. Typical mayo based like in a diner. It was fresh though.I had one 40CL or 13.5 ounce Stella Artois. It was $7.50 which seemed a little pricey.I wouldn 't go back unless I heard that they really overhauled how they prepare their meats. I would think a barbecue restaurant would pride itself on expertly cooked and flavorful meat, which wasn 't present on any of our three sandwiches, especially not my leather oiled brisket."
