"Any good reviews on this place are either done by people who know nothng about real food, or by the owners. Right off the bat, we were told they didn’t have lasagna, swordfish, or lamb. I ordered New England Clam Chowder for an appetizer, and was told, ‘We don’t do clam chowder’. Not an auspicious start. We ordered Cream of Crab soup, and Oyster Stew for appetizers. The crab was a small bowl, but the stew large enough for an entree. Both were made with flour and too much of some type of acid, either vinegar, or tomato paste. So we asked for the ingredients of the oyster stew, and the server didn’t know, but came back and told us ‘oysters, cream, and parsley’. Anyone who knows food at all could tell it also had flour, and at least one acidic ingredient, which the “chef” obviously didn’t know, or wouldn’t admit to. We got part of a baguette with the entrees, even though we had most of a baguette left we received with appetizers. Then they brought a complimentary curry hummus, which had too much curry in it, and this also came with bread, some pita. The first entree we got was New England smoked bacon-crusted salmon with Pinot Noir reduction, truffle macaroni and cheese, and creamed spinach. The salmon had a thick bread crust on it, with no hint of bacon anywhere. The pinot “reduction” tasted like sour grape juice! The truffle macaroni and cheese was greasy and heavy, with no hint of truffles, and had a texture like it had been microwaved. The creamed spinach was stiff, and also seemed like it had been microwaved, after it had been thawed. The second entrée was pan seared rockfish with white wine butter sauce, sautéed spinach and sautéed mushrooms. The rockfish, if that‘s what it was, was overseasoned with some type of dry rub, probably from a bottle, and too salty. The spinach was loaded with garlic, and the mushrooms were cut large enough for my dog, but I wouldn’t subject him to the torture from this food. This “chef” needs to go to culinary school, stay away from frozen foods and microwave ovens, and get in the kitchen instead of watching TV at the bar. This place needs a visit from Gordon Ramsey’s ‘Kitchen Nightmares’!"

"Fantastic place for dinner, drinks and a sunset. If the upper deck is open, request to sit there 45 min or so before sunset, the view is directly down the Narrows and is stunning. The restaurant is known for their tapas and they are very tasty. They have a full menu as well but tapas are the gem here."

"First time at The Pier. I am gluten free so was impressed by the menu indicator showing which menu items are GF. I was also impressed by the number of GF options I had. The waitress was awesome very patient with me as I asked questions about some of the menu options. Service was great and the food was very good. I had a steak topped with a crab in a blue cheese sauce with a glass of wine. My wife had fried shrimp, crab soup, and a glass of wine. Both meals came with 2 sides. The first picture is the view from our table, the second is the view when outside (e.g. leaving). Most of the seating indoors is by a window or you can sit outside in a glass enclosed area. We sat inside. I will definitely return and highly recommend both lunch and dinner at this restaurant. Dietary restrictions: The menu clearly indicates gluten free options. I am also egg free and the waitress was very accommodating assisting me with this. Parking: Large parking lot accommodating the businesses, restaurants, and park. Typically not an issue finding a spot but may have a little walk."

"Food was not awful but, order spaghetti and meat ball and got neither. Ordered cheese burgers got no cheese. They didn't care. It's not the employees they work hard. It's all about the owner and managements culture they put forward. I would not recommend to come here to eat a professional made meal. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
