"Me and my Partner have been together 30 years. My partner had Beef Roast I had the Salmon in white wine sauce. Both meals came out with fresh cooked vegetables, home crispy potatoes and golden homemade Yorkshire puds. Finished all down with their finest out sourced local business Ale and Cocktails. Service staff are so friendly and always willing to help. This family run business is amazing atmosphere to have a beautiful dinner either inside or out."

"It’s been some years since visiting the Pipe of Port, and honestly I wonder why it’s taken me so long to come back. Dining as a family party of eight for a family birthday, we loved the experience. There is genuinely nowhere in Southend to have a dining experience quite like this, it has an atmosphere and vibe like no other. A fantastic menu, quality ingredients, super-friendly and efficient service, and wine pairings to match. The set menu is great value for money (2 courses for £20) and the whole meal cost us about £38 per head, which included some beers and a couple of bottles of wine, plus sides. Can’t wait to come back. The pies are a must-pick, and the danish herring with creamed Stilton was outstanding."

"Staff were pleasant but just not very well trained. Our waiter told us that the tuna steak could only be cooked medium or well done. The Tuna was listed in the grill section of the menu alongside all of the steaks, so he was convinced that it should come with a mushroom even though we requested a salad instead. When he came back from the kitchen he confirmed that we could have it rare with a salad. He then went on to ask us if we wanted the Peppercorn, Bearnaise or Blue cheese sauce with it..... My wife had the tuna it was overcooked. I ordered the smokey venison I was presented with a beautiful platter of rare medallions under a bell jar. The waiter then apologised for the lack of smoke under the bell jar the chef's smoking gun was broken. I should have been told this when I ordered it then he could have left the bell jar in the kitchen! The Venison was delicious just a shame about the lack of smoke I think it would have made it amazing."
