"Having been up to the top of the zwolferhor cable car it is just a short walk from the base station to this delightful cafe by the lake. It wasn't very crowded when I visited, this may be because it is located a little way out from the village centre. The waitress took my order and served me with a very nice apple strudel with cream and ice cream. The warm weather meant the ice cream melted quickly sadly so I had to eat quick!! It was all very nice and the coffee also. The cafe also serves meals and snacks for those who fancy something more substantial as well as beers, wines and spirits. I am happy to recommend this place to others visiting Saint Gilgen."

"Beautiful family-run café/bar in the centre of St Gilgen. Cosy and quirky inside with room for large groups above. visited twice for coffee and strudel, which was very tasty on both occasions. Very recommended."

"Went for a drink and ice cream after a walk around the see. The ice cream tasted like margarine and the Aperol tasted like cheep tonic with water. Not sure if the staff is rude or they just don’t speak the language. I think it...was both. The waiter didn’t even bother to ask why we didn’t eat up or drink whatever they served us. He just slammed the change on the table. 0 points for service."

"We sat down at this restaurant as a second choice, but so glad we did. The lady servicing the tables was friendly and greeted us with a smile. She had no problem interpreting the Austrian menu to English and was helpful with our decision making. The food was delicious - I had a potato and pumpkin soup with a small mixed salad, and the kids had Goulash soup. We ate Kisershmann for desert and it was gone in a minute ! The food was simple and healthy, the coffee was great and the view fantastic.I highly recommend sitting at this restaurant, and not at the fancy looking one next door."
