"Had the banana blossom “fish” n chips was delicious, but quite expensive. Never had banana flowers, but it had a really cool texture and the vegan tartaric acid sauce was also delicious. Only the price that makes it down, but I guess it's a chic kind of restaurant"

"First time we visited here and we will definitely be back. Waited for about a minute before we were greeted with a happy smiley face and taken to our table. We had some cheeky little banter with the waiter and were not disappointed with his recommendation off the menu. A very friendly atmosphere coupled with delightful refreshments. What more can you expect?"

"I visited with my family of girlfriend and two children and found a restaurant with very few people, no atmosphere and very average food to be kind. My children have a good appetite but did not want to eat the slop served to them. For the price I paid, I’d expect something considerably better than the food we received. Night two and most definitely not eating there again. Not recommended unless you fancy paying premium prices for very average food."

"I went for Sunday dinner with a family friend, the beef, stated as cooked pink was beige, chewy and flavourless, the roast potatoes are from a bag of frozen ones, the veg was potentially just brought to temperature, the carrots were raw, no idea what cheese sauce they put on the equally rock hard cauliflower but it was stringy and unpleasant, the regaled rich gravy was a bland watery grave for the dire plate of horror to drown in, the Yorkshire puddings were the pre prepped ones you microwave or briefly show the oven, no idea why beef is served with sausage stuffing, also not nice and loads of it, maybe to make up for the near £12 price tag, I’m no chef but this was horrendous, I was offered to speak to a manager or a free drink, we both declined, it’s better people are made aware than compensated, the Tavern needs to do significantly better, you can’t charge people for such terrible food"

"Went here with 3 kids before the pantomime at the Regent Theatre, booked because it was so close and there was food on the menu that the kids would eat. Wasn't sure if we'd be welcomed since it's a cocktail bar (but it was 3pm), but staff couldn't have been more friendly. We all enjoyed the food, and the adults were able to enjoy a cocktail as well! Will definitely go again."
