" Till I tried Kirin, Mini Shabu-Shabu was the only Asian restaurant I know in Hi Street. Amazingly, Kirin is the only Chinese resto in this long commercial promenade, and until recently, I actually thought it was Japanese, named after the beer. I immediately put Kirin to the test by ordering the Sweet & Sour Pork. To complement, we got the Scezhuan Spicy Chicken and fried rice with egg whites. They passed the S&S pork test, the sauce is mildly syrupy, not sticky, with a subtle hint of pineapple and plum. The breading is light and crispy. But the stunner was the Spicy Chicken - I think it's Indian in origin, not Scezhuan. It's crispy fried chicken drowned in deep fried crispy chopped peppers. Hunting for the chicken is part of the experience. Maanghang talaga, so one bite to taste, and I skipped the red devils! For appetizers, we had the SiaLongBao - quite good, but an odd 5 pieces. The interiors are very modern but not tacky. It's bright and warm, cool enough for the younger set, but warm enough for families. The wait staff are very attentive and cordial, not overly friendly. They did make the mistake of bringing out the main courses before the dimsum, and all teas are P40 per pot, no freebies. Worth a try! "

"To be fair to suzhou, we did not really order their Chinese specialties, so this evaluation is based on the tapsilogous and damped bark garlic we ordered. tapsilog was so-so for P175, but the bark in the oyster sauce was good p330, if also a bit of spicer...as what I wanted (I asked above all that they serve the chili separately) it would have been a good visit if not for the bad service of the staff. my companion and I only wore casual clothes, and although we were the first visitors, the staff concentrated more on the family that came later than we arrived (may they think we were students.) to cut the story short, I felt completely unnoticed by the employees. bad, their menu was really confusing. the prices I mean. my companion and I got 2 menus with very different trips. like the mango shake in my pie of the menu is P80/Glas. in the pie of my friend is p100! iced tee is p55 vs P85. beef in the oyster sauce is p300 vs p330. I'm not going back."

"The prices are fairly acceptable considering its location. Waiters are responsive especially the pregnant floor manager. Service was quick. Proportions are surprisingly similar to binondo restos. But the cook should avoid mixing a leftover piece of meat with the chicken lemon butter. Difference is easy to spot on freshly cooked and not. Overall expect the wonderful MSG to kick in. I will recommend this place highly to those who love honest to goodness chinese food and wish to be served quickly."

"Kirin is located in the fashionable High Street precinct at the newly developing (Fort Bonafacio Global City at Taguig, Metro Manila. Like most establishments on this “strip”, Kirin has been designed with due care in terms of the façade and décor, which are both pleasing...to the eye and provide a good first impression. It is quite a large facility with seating for more than fifty at least. The food is standard Chinese fare with a good selection of soups, appetizers including dumplings (shrimp hakao, fresh shrimp steamed rice roll, etc. and mains. There are a few unusual items that are worth a try, for example the spinach and quail egg soup. The manager on duty is quite happy to discuss a suitable combination of dishes to suit your desired need or palate. Kirin is one of the few places in Manila able to serve the genuine Peking Duck, which is prepared next to your table, and one is given options on the fate of the duck once the skin has been removed. The staff seemed dedicated enough and eager to assist. However, they can be distracted when the restaurant gets really busy, which is quite often during the weekends."

"The first time that i've been here, i'd probably rate it as 2/5 since the service wasn't that good, we waited for almost an hour before we got served and i'm bothered with the plates that they use (it's kinda cheap looking because of scratches &amp; black marks on it). <br> <br> Nonetheless, I came back for their food. T'was great, really. I like the balanced seasoning and how it was served. Also, I like how they've changed their plates and make it more presentable, even the staffs became more friendly. <br> <br> I would also suggest this restaurant if you're planning to try any asian cuisine (preferably chinese) but have a tight budget, this resto would be a nice pick since they offer personal set meals with iced tea plus unlimited rice &amp; soup that costs below P200 :)<br> <br> One of the things I think would be their weakness is the place, it's ideal but it's small for the number of people who wants to dine. <br> <br> My recommended dishes are listed below.<br> - Salted egg fried chicken<br> - Crunchy... <a class="read-more" href="#">read more</a>"

"My family and I are always looking forward to trying out new Chinese food around metro manila. We are delighted to have this restaurant just a few minutes drive away from our condo in Taguig. Excellent and authentic Chinese food on the menu. Some of my favourites are the crispy beef strips, steamed truffle pork xiao long bao and noodle in a fragrant mushroom minced pork sauce. Overall, the service is good, high food quality at a very reasonable price. This restaurant is ideal also for bigger groups as they have dinner-table turntables commonly seen in Chinese restaurants. Overall, my family and I enjoyed every single bite of the meal. Worth it. Would recommend to all. A must try...read more"
