"This should be renamed the Best Ale House -great staff with proper knowledge of what they were pouring,and boy those ales and cyders were tasty and well kept. We went on a Wednesday and joined in a fun quiz run by Luca.Historical pub, beams and monkey nut shells on the floor. simply fabulous ."

"Been twice now and to be fair both times the food was decent. Service however needs some serious work FOH. No check backs. Had to get my own napkins from other tables. No 2nd and 3rd drinks offered. This has happened on both occasions. The actual people are at least nice just need a refresher on hospitality excellence probably. Shouldn’t have to get up to pay when it’s so quiet ect. Don’t usually write reviews but since it’s been the same twice thought I would as I’m pretty sure this place could be great. Don’t want anyone to get in trouble and please just take this as feedback."

"What a find this little gem was. Down the bottom end of town but eye catching when you walk up to it and extremely welcoming when you entered. Menu catering for all. We just wanted a small bit and can highly recommend the Parmesan Fries, fully covered from top to bottom in Parmesan and the Aioli mayo side accompanying was perfect."

"I do try so hard to avoid this place as the cheap beer has that 'rusty ' taste- it 's a preservative to extend the life of the beer but I felt I had to give it one last chance on the bottled beers. 330ml Stella, £3.50! Would be incredibly expensive in a nice pub. Yes, I 'm done with this place. Such a shame. A real lads pub, a great laugh and somewhere i 'd love to frequent but anybody who knows anything about the pub trade and their cheats can taste it in their product. Damn it, I 'd love to play pool here with my mates but how can I bring them here when the beer is 'sustained ' and the bottled beer is so over priced? Apocryphal. Seems I need to say whey hey at the end of every sentence. Blimus!"
