"Aside from a couple of notable shawarma biz, Winnipeg has been largely shawarma-dry. Fortunately, we seem to be furnishing an atmosphere increasingly conducive to Middle Eastern fare--and I couldn't be happier. Shawarma are fast, meaty, vegetably, and exceedingly budget-friendly. And of course--with solid ingredients, shawarms is incredibly tasty. Sultan's the is the newest on the block, and wins on all counts.We have visited Sultan's a few times. Located in the old Black Sheep Diner space, there was some trepidation about seedy interiors. Not to worry: They've done a lovely job restoring their dining area & kitchens. It's spotlessly clean, refreshingly painted, and the seating makes a whole lot more sense. The guys at Sultan's attend for counter service, and whip out the meals within minutes. This is great for the student/business rush--and even better so as not to suffer too long with the lovely smells & promise of deliciousness to come.We've had the shawarma several times, and it's always good. The portions are mammoth and, more importantly, just really beautifully balanced. Talking to these fellows, I confirmed that all the food is prepared in-house, from the delicate hot sauce (with tamarind) to the tzatziki and the tabbouleh with mint & parsley. Meals come with a plate of hummus, drizzled with a nutty sesame oil, tabbouleh, & fries. Fries! Not your fatboy fries, but a medium cut, good crispness, and a light seasoning fried in a good oil. Sometimes I don't need the fries, and have had no trouble substituting additional hummus & salad instead.We applaud you, Sultan's! Great job. I hope we can encourage you to stick around, flourish, and keep up with your hours. We heartily welcome you to the community."

"Been meaning to try this place for a while now and am I happy I did. Great place to grab a quick bite or even take your meal to go. I got the Beef and Lamb plate, the plates give you a lot more so you get to try a little bit of everything! The rice is enjoyable and not super heavy. The meat is flavourful, but not moist or juicy and a bit more on the dry side. I chose the Tabbouleh salad (parsley, bulgur wheat, red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and spices), along with the beet and apple salad, a unique combination but works well. The hummus and tahini sauce were both delicious, very flavourful! The potatoes were lightly seasoned which was great, because everything else is full of flavour. My only complaint is that my food was barely warm and I ate it like 32 seconds after I got it. I for sure enjoy my food more when it's hot. Also, the hot sauce wasn't actually hot, so that was a bit disappointing, but other than that this is a great place! Staff is super friendly, it's in a great area of the city and of course the food is good! You just might want gum for after, cause the garlic tends to stay in your mouth."

"I frequently pass through the West End looking for unique places to eat, and Shawarma Time does not disappoint! The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was my first time there and gave me help with the menu. I will definitely be going back soon as every time I think about Shawarma I begin salivating."

"If you're someone who loves REAL food, then I strongly recommend that you go to Shawarma Xpress. Their customer service is absolutely amazing they're always smiling and always engaging to have a small conversation. Their food is very delicious and cooked to perfection, I go there almost every time. Go check them out people, you won't be disappointed. Stumble upon this Gem in the city accidentally. The food was clean, fresh, large portions and delicious. Customer service was excellent. I bought chicken and lamb shawarma, samosa, sambusa and momos. I personally liked the lamb the most, the flavor is extremely savoury, flavorful and satisfying. Definitely recommend to try them out, it is worth the money. Will definitely go back again."
