"This pub is a little off the beaten track but well worth the effort. My friend and I were lucky to get a table before Christmas without a reservation. The real ale was decent, and my pirate pie was humongous — and very tasty! Lovely morsels of beef, veg and gravy left me feeling stuffed. My friend had one of the smaller pies which he enjoyed as well. Good job."

"Hoped to get a table on spec , luckily they could accommodate us , one of the hottest days of the year we opted to eat outside under their marquee which was lovely . Menu was varied with a good selection but not too many like the chains do which can be overwhelming , I opted for gammon melt and my husband had a burger with pulled pork , he said it was tasty , my gammon was moist and not at all salty , our plates were ample with lovely fresh salad and crispy chips , drinks were very reasonable as was the food. There is a microbrewery at the rear which was closed much to my husbands dismay but we will return , it was really lovely"

"Came back again as its always been great and not disappointed sunday lunch was fantastic, really hot and full of flavour. Staff were great and welcoming. Place was fairly busy but we never had to wait long for food. Will definitely be back."
