Service is bad, place feels dirty, and the clientele ot attracts speaks volumes of its low quality

Sunday nights. Great food. Service sucks. Bartender/waitress has 4 people at bar. Nine at are table wanting Service and she’s on her cell phone. We’ll come back but...

We have eaten here at least once a week since stumbling on this gem of a restaurant. The servers are wonderful every time. The food menu is extensive and the plates are overwhelming. The prices are wonderful for the amount of food they serve you. There is always a short wait for food and the food is wonderful!!! We have been making our way through the menu and have enjoyed everything so far. The Cajun pasta is excellent. As well as the fried chicken and shrimp and fish and hush puppies. And those grilled green beans are the best!!! It is so refreshing to have so many of these great qualities in a restaurant in theses days and times. And to top it off it’s a family business which I will support first in any venture. Thank you so much for all your outstanding qualities and we will see you next week!!!

Everyone at this restaurant is always pleasant and courteous. And I must say, That the food is always excellent.

What really frustrated me was that we were charged more than what was listed on the menu. I was surprised to find a dollar extra added for sweet potatoes, which I only discovered after flipping through multiple pages of the menu; it wasn’t clearly indicated upfront. I stopped reading when I found what I wanted, and the waiter didn’t mention any extra costs, unlike most servers who do when there's an additional charge. My husband also faced a small charge of 15 cents for onions on his burger, and when we asked about it, the waiter just shrugged and said he didn’t know why there was an extra fee. Additionally, we were not asked if we would be paying in cash or with card; the waiter just assumed we would use a credit card and proceeded to charge us accordingly. In total, we ended up paying about $2.50 more than expected. It's not a huge amount, but it's still irritating. Overall, given the experience, I wouldn’t choose to eat here again, even though we were visiting the area.
