What User doesn't like about Dangerous Kitchen:
the food was ok, but the service was really what this place has settled. we were ignored when we came in when the two were talking to each other. the menus were well used and looked dirty. I didn't think the vegan options were that great for the breakfast - I had the granola and got over a teaspoon of cocosnus yogurt with it. the banana had brown pieces on it. the cabinet food looked good, but not much vegan. read more.

My family (incl. 3 teenagers) visited Takaka in January. We got takeaway coffees from DK in the morning, and the food and vibe looked so amazing that we planned...

Favourite place in Takaka so far. Great vibe, awesome food, beer and wine. Supreme coffee and all round awesome place to hang out. Recommend sitting in the gard...

"Excellent food, great service. The buttered chicken was pretty good, but would probably try the ribs next time. Good feedback on the garlic prawns as a main. Also the fish of the day was good. Nice selection of desserts and some good beer options."

The food here is absolutely the best you can get anywhere in New Zealand. A small but perfectly designed menu. The gin selection is wonderful and served In beautiful glasses with a side of tonic. There are some delicious local gins on the menu. We had the venison one night, snapper the next and the risotto. Every dish is thoughtful, delicious and beautifully presented. The deserts the same. Ethan Zheng was the manager on our visits this year, he is an absolute asset to this lodge. He is such a wonderful host. Wherever he goes next will truly benefit from his presence.
