Contribute FeedbackThe pub offers a mix of experiences, including wonderful food, while issues included loud patrons. Some had issues with the quality and atmosphere. Family and friends, on the other hand, had nice meals with attentive service. The value is good, with a range of dishes. The ambiance is cozy with nods to village charm, though updates to the beer selection are suggested. Overall, patrons found it a welcoming spot for a meal.
Good service, however one of the dishes had ingredients missing, did bring attention to the young staff who seemed ambivalent. Rest of food was tasty and enjoyable
Good home made food and very good service especially from the young lady that gave us directions to the car park
Last minute Sunday booking, c5.30pm for a roast and pie. Lovely food, great service
Food is fantastic, hearty and delicious! Probably one of the best meals I have had in the UK. Well done.
We received excellent service the minute we walked through the door. We were immediately shown to our table and handed a menu and asked if we would like to order any drinks. The menu mentioned “our famous stag beef pie” this sometimes make you wonder what they base this statement on well I can tell you this is probably one of the best pies I have ever had. The pie was stuffed full of tender pieces of beef and the pastry surrounding it was amazing. I can see why it is award winning. There were six of us and two had the pie and four other different meals and every single one was amazing. The sticky toffee pudding which we had was also very moist and delicious. I can honestly say this is probably one of the best pubs I have ever eaten at. The menu was also reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this pub and I will definitely be visiting again if I am ever in the area.
