I grew up in Italy, and visit this part on the country pretty regularly. I love the simple, yet unique flavors of the local cuisine. That said, I believe Ai Lares is way overrated. Yes, the food is fine, and service is friendly and prompt. However, the restaurant is a 20-minute drive from Auronzo, on a twisty mountain road.
