Best Espetadas on the island. We ate on the 1st level, nothing to fancy, very simple decor, but the food was amazing. Both ordered the espetadas, with a side of fries and salad. Entree we had the typical madeira bread, bolo de cacao with garlic, and a bottle of wine. For dessert, we ordered the apple tarte with vanilla ice cream. Total came to 65€. Very friendly waitors. I was very well attended at the restaurant, the waiters were very good and so was the food. However when I left I noticed a macaw trapped with such a sad look that I hit really my stomach and I felt very bad and sad. This bird was not born to be trapped in a place like this. This is a huge offense and disrespect to nature. Please make sure that this bird can at least have a little dignity in the life it has left. read more.
