I recently stopped beers in Grendels at Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, for some decent craftsmanship. I was on a short trip to Manhattan. The bartender was friendly and welcoming. Grendels is fine. It's just good. It's there if you drink a late night and sub-par, but filling food, but I wouldn't go for much else. The staff (mostly) always takes to you and transfer your orders (this can be a staff problem and not their fault, but it still affects the service), and they will not tell you when the last call is (that has happened several times) so it is super difficult to know where you stand with...
