Overall, the River Crab received mixed reviews. While some diners were highly disappointed with the service and food quality, others had a fantastic experience. The restaurant seemed to suffer from severe understaffing and overbooking, leading to long wait times and lackluster service for some patrons. However, those who enjoyed their meals highlighted the friendly and attentive staff, as well as the delicious food options. The ambiance, particularly the outdoor terrace, received praise for its serene setting and comfortable seating. Despite some shortcomings, the River Crab seems to have potential, especially for those looking for a nice dining experience by the water.
The average rating of this establishment is 4.6, which means that the Riccardo Trattoria is extremely well regarded by its customers.
What LoriW likes about Riccardo Trattoria:
I ate here 10 yrs ago… calamari was so memorable I knew I’d make it back someday. My husband and I planned this quick trip to Chicago and I immediately made my Riccardo Trattoria reservation! Did not disappoint! The calamari is the best (soaked in milk for 24 hrs which I learned 10 yrs ago). This restaurant is a gem. The early bird special was a wonderful surprise. The food and service were exceptional. View all feedback.
What Alexandra Kozey doesn't like about Riccardo Trattoria:
To some it up... disappointed! Should have taken note from reviews. Place has potential. The entrees absolutely horrible. Ordered potato encrusted whitefish... potatoes not cooked was gross. Wife's beef medallions torched! The bread was excellent as well as the wine, other than that nothing great about this muer locationWill not be back View all feedback.
Fantastic food and great ambiance. One of the best hidden gems in Chicago!
My favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. The food is authentic and well-prepared.
