Fantastic food on a quiet night in the restaurant. We wanted to go out for dinner whilst staying in Blockley and with the village cafe restaurant fully booked, we opted for the crown hotel. The menu was small but the food was excellent. Two of us had the duck salad which was excellent, one had the smoked salmon and one the prawn cocktail all generously portioned and fresh. What RetiredBrit doesn't like about Rafters:
We looked in for a pre-prandial stiffener with a view to possibly eating here, but left after one drink and ate elsewhere. They did manage an indifferent pint but were thrown by a request for a spritzer (we explained) and an alcohol-free beer. The restaurant also offers the possibility to sit outside and be served in nice weather, and there's a counter where you can sit down and eat. The guest room invites you to linger and extensively enjoy.
