Perfectly situated on the the way Nainital, in kathgodam, with ample parking space, it is was natural stopover for me. Woodpecker has this amazing mutton dish. It has no fancy name, no fancy style of cooking, it is a simple pahari style. and really a wow dish. It was sheer chance that I had it first time, I visited Woodpecker. Inspite of insipid food and insipid service deserves three stars for being a beautiful place, and old looking Stone structure set amidst magnificent mango trees and a newly refurbished contemporary interior. Staff is old and lacks energy and vibrancy. And so does the food.
