My family and I went to Hawaiian Style Cafe in Hilo recently and my biggest complaint (and only complaint) was that all foods looked delicious and we live in California, so we need to wait until the next vacation to try other things. Not worth waiting 45+ minutes for. Food is mediocre at best. We ordered the haupia pancakes and an omelet. The haupia pancakes were ok. The omelette was bad! Overcooked eggs were brown and dry with no flavor and for the avocado is was 1 thin slice. Sad to say we won't be back. The food was way better when they were just in Waimea. It was very warm and uncomfortable inside. Ken's pancakes and omelettes are way better. read more.
