The Hope Anchor Tavern, Australia's oldest hotel continuously licensed since 1807. Our ground floor hosts a classically styled bar and oyster bar dining room with original open fireplaces. Upstairs, our restaurant, museum, and function rooms are filled with historical art and artifacts from around the world. After being closed to the public for six years, we are excited to have reopened this fantastic piece of Tasmanian and Australian history for everyone to enjoy, seven days a week.

The wife and I were looking for dinner while holidaying in Hobart. We found the Hope and Anchor tavern and are glad we did. Good beers on tap and a nice dinner menu saw is visit a second time in our four days in town. What Ashly Ferry doesn't like about Hope & Anchor Tavern:
This may be a 1.0, but we will not stay long enough to actually order, so who knows how well the food is. What a shocking amateur rabble they were. To see how the.chaos mild was amusing until we were with our little boy, without being served or recognized for 30 minutes. Needles to say, we had to leave and get fish and chips from the harbor front. View all feedback.
